about

Hate Thy Neighbour laments the people and industries currently destroying the planet. It's not a song about hating other people, it's a song about hating people's practices, not being apathetic and realising the selfishness that accompanies our planetary exploitation.

lyrics

It's a good house but
I hate the neighbours
People who come in just two flavours
A sweet or bitter taste
They can switch between the two with haste

You've a complex if
You think you're the saviour
Watch out with hypocrite behaviour
Look at all the things you waste
Say again where are your morals based

I've never asked too much of you
I know it's a guess but it's true
You're only around to celebrate yourselves

I try to take from her
But never sway her
But I'm only human I'm a master persuader
But I think you're a thief
And what you're doing beggars all belief

I know you'd crack the sky
To turn a profit
And nobody's gonna be able to stop it
Now you can buy a piece
But when you eat the whole you'll be obese

I never asked too much of you
I know it's a guess but it's true
You're only around to celebrate yourselves

about

Martyn Wilson Leeds, UK

I wrote my first album, Restless, because I'd injured my arm and couldn't play instruments effectively for a year. I didn't want to give in to it, so Restless was the result.

I've written a new album for release in 2017 and the single, "Hate Thy Neighbour", is available now.
